Lightning Mediation - Two Hours

Due to California state budget reductions, the Los Angeles Superior Court no longer provides ADR services and no longer accepts referrals to the Party Select or Pro-Bono Panels. At Wilton Law & Mediation, we recognize the closure of the Los Angeles Superior Court ADR program leaves many litigants without an affordable mediation alternative. Therefore, we now offer a low-cost, quick mediation program specifically designed for these situations.

This two-hour, "Lightning Mediation" process is ideal not only for cases where the amount in controversy, or the gap between settlement positions, is relatively small, but also works for situations where a single issue needs to be resolved before the parties can move forward on their own. For example, this can occur in construction defect cases where it is necessary to apportion liability contribution before commencing negotiations with the plaintiff, or in cases where insurance coverage or policy limit issues need to be resolved first. "Lightning Mediation" would also work well where multiple plaintiffs are involved.

Together with our Standard Mediation programs, the "Lightning Mediation" provides an excellent opportunity to resolve issues in an expedited and inexpensive manner.

Standard Mediation (Half Day) - Four Hours

Standard Mediation (half day) is the type of mediation most commonly used in situations where the participants believe the matter can be resolved in less than one day. Time can be spent discussing the pertinent issues and allow the participants opportunities to fully explore the various available resolution options. This half-day program also allows for flexibility as the time can be extended as needed and the start times are variable. For that reason, most half-day sessions begin in the mid-morning, although afternoon starts are welcome.

Together with our other mediation programs, the Standard Mediation (half day) provides an excellent opportunity to resolve issues in a more cost-effective manner with the flexibility to fit most situations.

Standard Mediation (Full Day) - Eight Hours

Scheduling a full day for mediation is most appropriate for cases where the participants recognize there are complicated issues that simply cannot adequately be addressed in a shorter session. Perfect for multi-party cases where liability, apportionment and damages are in issue, it also is appropriate where the dividing issues require time to adequately express and explore available options. Complimentary lunch and snacks are provided when the mediation is held at the Wilton Law & Mediation offices.

Together with our other mediation programs, the "Standard Mediation (Full Day)" provides an excellent opportunity to resolve more complicated disputes when a shorter mediation would lead to a reduced likelihood of settlement.
